This is a
Cisco CUCM 12.5 Server
w/ a
fully configured Voice Gateway
with a
H.323 Gateway
(Cisco 2811 Router)
Communication between CUCM Server and Voice Gateway (2811 Router) is also done through a
SIP Trunk
This is a

The Server Platform is a
Dell R620
with
32GB RAM

500GB HD
running
VMware ESXi 6.5
(see details below)
The Voice Gateway is implemented with a
Cisco 2811 Router
with an
FXO Card
+ the proper PVDM.
NOTE:
An active Phone Line
is needed to make/receive External Phone Calls.
A Phone Cable (RJ-11 connectors at both ends) is needed to connect the FXO card to the Phone Line.
The Phone Line can be implemented in multiple ways: standard
Land Line, Vonage, Magic Jack, etc.
This Lab kit also includes
2 x  Cisco 7942 IP Phones
which are pre-configured in the Server!
The Router also provides
DHCP functions
for the IP Phones and for any device connected to it (i.e: Mgmt. Station)
Once the physical connections are done, you'll be able to make Phone Calls
either internally
or to the outside world!

Inline Power needed to power to the Phones.
Voice Gateway Operation
:
CUCM Server is setup with an
H.323 Gateway & SIP Trunk
, which are connected to an
FXO Card
in the 2811 Router.
The FXO Card must be connected to the
PSTN
to reach the outside world.
Incoming calls are re-directed to specific Extension Number (one of the IP Phones).

CUCM
(Cisco Unified Call Manager) is the Software that provides (among others) Call Control functions.
CUCM requires the use of
VMware ESXi Hypervisor Software

With this Virtualization Technology a single physical Server can run

CUCM Software installed in our Servers has a
Non-Commercial/Educational License
(or Demo License) with a

Validity Period.
In other words, it expires after 90 Days, after which it needs to be re-installed.

VMware-ready Images
(OVA/OVF files)
All CUCM components can be reinstalled using these VMware Images.
Therefore,
this system can be used indefinitely!

The Hard Drive is a single 500GB Disk with
RAID-0
(no redundancy).
But it can be upgraded to
RAID-1
(100% redundancy) by adding a
second 500GB HD
